Fun with Bubble Wrap- a new video from Gina K.

Welcome back!

Today, see how easy it is to create backgrounds using the bubble wrap that comes inside of many of your crafty orders! This tiny bubble wrap creates a whimsical look and can be soft and elegant or bright and fun. In this video, I’ll show you an easy method to get perfect coverage and an elegant layout that helps you create two cards from one piece.

In my first card, I used Peach Bellini ink for a more elegant look.

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Peach Bellini Layer- 4 1/2″ X 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded in half

White Layer- 3 3/4″ X 5″

Bubble Wrapped Layer- 3 1/2″ X 4 3/4″

White Greeting Layer- 3 1/4″ X 4 1/2″

(All Supplies are listed at the bottom)

For my second card, I used the negative piece that I cut from the first card to create the focal image for this card!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

Peach Bellini Layer- 4 1/2″ X 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded in half

Black Onyx Layer- 3 7/8″ X 5 1/8″

White Embossed Layer- 3 3/4″ X 5″

For my rainbow card, I swiped ink in rainbow order across the bubble wrap and created this bright and cheerful card. I used the Wishes die and Wishes stamp set from the Elegant Asters kit to create a bold greeting group.

Measurements for this card are as follows:

White Layer- 5 1/2″ X 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and folded in half

Black Onyx Layer 5 1/8″ X 3″

White Bubblewrapped Layer- 5″ x 2 7/8″

In my final card, I swiped the ink on an angle and it changes the whole look of the card. By using just two colors, it appears a bit softer but still bright and cheerful!

Measurements for this card are as follows:

White Layer- 5 1/2″ X 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and folded in half

Black Onyx Layer- 3 7/8″ X 5 1/8″

White Embossed Layer- 3 3/4″ X 5″

What a lovely, fun technique. For some reason I save bubble wrap, so I have plenty, and I can’t wait to go to my craft room and give this a try. So many fun possibilities.

Did you pop all of it first? Adds to the fun. Anyway, a fun card. I will try this.

Oh, I love the idea of bubble wrap! Do you pop the bubbles before you use it?

I really loved this. I just tried it with my Distress Oxides in shaded lilac, squeezed lemonade, broken china. The cards came out perfect. Who would have thought bubblewrap???? So creative.
